Monarch Graced 22nd Civil Service Day

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stresses the importance of civil servants assimilating the culture of making changes.

The Monarch adds the main key for the country to become pro-business and be known as the best business nation is by assimilating the culture of change. If civil servants fail to adapt the culture, government agencies will not be able to make their work better and more outstanding. His Majesty made the titah yesterday at the 22nd Civil Service Day celebration at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Upon arrival the International Convention Centre, His Majesty and members of the royal family were greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdul Rahman Hj Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance; Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Roselan bin Haji Mohamad Daud, the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office as the Co-Advisers of the 22nd Civil Service Day Celebration Executive Committee, as well as Awang Yahya bin Haji Idris, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office as the Chairman of the Celebration Executive Committee.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah specifically for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and for the departed members of the Civil Service, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

The recitation Surah Yusuf of Al-Qur'an was presented by Awang Zul-Hafiz Bin Awang Tengah, Education Officer at the Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School. It describes the characteristics of administration by Prophet Yusof which is used as an example to stimulate excellent governance.
