Nial has performed at prestigious stages such as the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, USA; the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague, Holland; the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, USA; the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland;

and the Sarasota Jazz Festival, Florida, USA.

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia on February 5th, 1981, Nial went on to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he received his Bachelor of Music degree in May of 2004. At Berklee, Nial was able to study with Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano, Joanne Brackeen, Hal Crook, Ed Tomassy, among others. There he also met his mentors Sonny Watson, whom Nial played with for 5 years, and Bo and Bill Winiker.He enrolled in September 2004 at the Juilliard School and his teachers at Juiliard are Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Barron, Carl Allen, Renee Rosnes. He started playing the piano at an early age. He graduated from Juilliard in May 2006. He is currently residing in Jakarta and is often seen playing at the local jazz clubs.
