Writings Competition Rules
Topic : Why I am Proud To Be an Indonesian
Eligibility : all Indonesians living in the US, age 18 and above
Memoir/Personal Essay : 500 words maximum, Deadline : October 28th, 2014
First Place Winner :$350.00, Second Place: $250.00, Third Place : $150, 5 Honorable Winners : $100 each

The Entry Rules:
Participants can enter the via regular mail to: indah@indonesianlantern.com
The entry must be original, in English, unpublished* and unproduced, not accepted by any other publisher or producer at the time of submission. Indonesian Lantern retains exclusive publication rights to all the winning entries to be published in Indonesian Lantern.
Any piece posted online, anywhere other than a personal blog, is considered published.
Manuscripts must be double-spaced. Your name, address, phone number and competition category must appear in the upper left-hand corner of the first page —otherwise your entry is disqualified. BE SURE OF YOUR WORD COUNT! Entries exceeding the word limit will be disqualified.
Type the exact word count (counting every single word, except the title and contact information) at the top of the manuscript.
Every entry will be read by the judges from Indonesian Lantern, Indonesian Embassy and Indonesian Consulates, etc. Judges’ decisions are final.
Entries must be received by October 28th, 2014. We cannot return submitted manuscripts so keep a copy for your records.
The 10 winners in will be listed in the November/December 2014 issue of Indonesian Lantern and on www.IndonesianLantern.com.
