Barack Obama Assists 'Hamilton' Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda's White House Freestyle Rap
The cast of Hamilton visited the White House on Monday (March 14), and President Barack Obama had a bit of fun with the musical's creator and star, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Setting up in the Rose Garden with a Redcoat drummer, Obama assisted Miranda through a freestyle based on an assortment of words the POTUS pulled out on flash cards. While Miranda stumbled a bit putting together concepts ranging from NASA to Oval Office to Obamacare (not that we can blame him), Obama was assured in his delivery, announcing, "Drop the beat" to kick things off.
And, even at 54, the president seems to have a pretty firm grasp on what the Internet likes. Afterward, he stated confidently, "You think that's going viral? That's going viral."
